'36 Plymouth
The car is a 1936 Plymouth Coupe Convertible with a rumble seat.
I don't know the year or model of the man, but I like him.
These were wildly popular in the 30s. A few appeared in the late 20s. My brother had one just like this one, kind of a sea green color, white-walls and all. Very nice lines on this one, the car and the owner. Thanks for the memory!
I would say it's too bad he's wearing baggy pants, but I really shouldn't complain. Those "bullet" fender mounted headlights were going out of style, and by '39 they were integrated into the body on this and most Chrysler/Plymouth models.
And by '41 the running boards were gone. I had a '38 Pontiac with those bullet headlights and they kept falling off (hanging by the wires)) because they had a mount made of pewter.
He's gorgeous!

ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, vv!
DeleteWhat a combo! Both man and car are fine.

DeleteOops. Instead of "fine," I should have written "f-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-ne."
DeleteAnd, those nipples of his indicate that the man has a hobby.

ReplyDeleteThe 1940-41 models were somewhat epochal in design, being one of the few pre-war models to translate well into the post-war style trends.
DeleteIndeed, and one of the finest specimen's was the '41 Chevy.
