Hüter

Jakob Wilhelm Fehrle created Hüter (Guardian) during the Nazi era.  Unlike some other sculptors whose work was featured in Nazi sponsored art exhibitions, he was not a party member and was cleared by a post war denazification court of any wrongdoing.  Other artists whose work was blatantly pro-Nazi were proscribed postwar and even had some pieces destroyed.
