Othryades
Swede Johan Tobias Sergel sculpted Othryades The Dying Spartan in 1779.
Like the Dying Gaul at the Capitoline Museum in Rome, Sergel must have had inspiration from that sculpture. Perhaps Sergel went on the Grand Tour to Rome, which was popular with artists at that time….:)
