Koch Freilicht
Our second archery themed image of the day is from Koch's Freilicht series.
I love the way he included the older man with the younger one.
Like the Friemut photo, the model appears to have a bow made from a bush or tree branch. I wonder if they actually worked, or were they more an aesthetic.
I sort of doubt that they actually worked, but such implements were characteristic of the Wandervogel movement popular in Germany at the time. One of Wandervogel's main themes was getting in touch with one's primitive side, so caveman re-enactments and such were often seen.
Lovely image. Always good to see an older model. Especially as he has maintained a superb physique. Perhaps introducing the pleasures of "forest bathing" to the younger man. I wish I could join them.
I like the poses and overall composition, and, like you, Jerry, the juxtaposition of old and young.
