Seaplane Stunt

I think these men are servicing a very large seaplane during World War II.

  1. I can think of other services they might perform.

  2. Had an uncle who served at USN bases in the Caribbean and the Pacific during Ww2 maintaining flying boats and amphibious aircraft.
They had every type from Gooses and Catalinas to Coronados and the giant Mars, the aircraft were used for reconnaissance, sub and surface ship hunting, transport and rescue operations. Maintenance was a constant task, but when done he had the opportunity to workout, sunbathe and swim nude on the islands, and on occasion go on a few flights. One time he was on a small seaplane that seemed to take forever to get off the water and into the air, when they came back to land the seaplane, the pilot put it down on the water in very sharp turns like a corkscrew !
My late uncle had fond memories of his service in the USN and said it was like a vacation in a tropical paradise.
