Frog Man?

I think this handsome fellow may have been a Navy frog man.

  3. This is William Hopper, who was an actor who played on Perry Mason ("Paul Drake"), and later was in several movies like "20 Million Miles to Earth" (1957). He is the son of Hollywood columnist Hedda Hopper. If you look closely at his swim trunks, near the inside of his right leg, you can see his name printed there. Hopper was a diver with the Navy Underwater Demolition Teams (name later changed to the Navy Seals), an extremely dangerous and risky job that involved pre-attack maneuvers to clear the way for amphibious landings in the Pacific during WW2. Hopper later noted that the constant danger was so intense, it turned his hair gray almost overnight. For his valor, he was awarded the Bronze Star. This photo was taken by Lieutenant Junior Grade C.F. Waters on 3 July 1945. Hopper would have been about 30 years old in the pic. He died in 1970 at the young age of 55.

Note: Online there is some disagreement about the identity of the man in the pic, but most of the more reputable sources seem to be in agreement that this is Hopper.
