Looking up
Ending with another fig leaf photo of Eugen Sandow looking up.
I always wondered why, in an era when the male body was not considered offensive, Sandow always wore a fig leaf. And I'm surprised you did not include the one shot where he was visible frontally after being plaster-cast for his statue. Not a criticism, just surprised.
I have previously posted the frontal from the plaster casting session. If you clicking on "Eugen Sandow" in column at right and scroll down, you can see it.
Great set! I love Sandow. Heard he was a pretty ruthless businessman and either bi or gay. Would’ve loved to meet him. bns
ReplyDeleteWidely held to be at least bi.

ReplyDeleteREALLY? I'm 66 years old and never knew that such a photo existed. I've always hated that f*kn' fig leaf.

DeleteAs ever, the fig leaf fixing method is interesting. I think this one is cord around the scrotum.
ReplyDeleteI wonder who got to put it in place?
