Alan Stephan and Bert Goodrich
Al Urban took this photo of championship level bodybuilders
Stephan Mr America 1946 & 1949 takes on Goodrich Mr America 1938. Both were Ww2 veterans in the USN. Goodrich worked as a stuntman, an uncredited player in a few films, and ran his own gym in Hollywood with film stars as clients. He and George Redpath had a hand-balancing act, like Lalanne and Thomas. Stephan posed for recruitment posters for the USN during ww2, and owned a gym in Minneapolis after the war….:)
Alan sort of resembles Clarence Ross, don't you think? At least from this angle.

It was Al Urban that encouraged Bert Goodrich to enter the Mr America contest, Goodrich returned the favor by posing for Urban….:)
