Wrestling Way Back When, Part 1 - Assorted
It's wrestling day and a two parter, with assorted photos in part one and Georg Hackenschimdt in part two. We start with two guys going at each other more convincingly than some we will see.
That lighting, (a skylight?) certainly brings out their musculature. I wonder how long they held this pose? Reminds me of my own nude wrestling for life drawing.
I'm not sure how it was done, but I fully agree about the lighting. For some reasone, I don't think it was a flash, so they might have held this for a couple of seconds. By the 1890s film was available that no longer required those 20-30 second poses.
When I was a wee bi boy, me and my friends would go skinny dipping, and we'd also wrestle naked. (And we'd jerk off together.) During the wrestling, there wasn't a soft dick on the bank.
I honestly don't think a healthy male can wrestle naked without getting at least a semi. The Greeks would actually bind the foreskin to prevent erections.

The form on both gentlemen is exceptional, the pose is quite artistic. I like it.
