Comments are cool!

Comments use is up . . . and that's good.

Just a reminder to you all to pay attention to the comments feature here on Blogger.  Lately there has been an uptick in both the quantity and quality of comments on some of the photos I post, and I have to give my viewers credit for their knowledge and taste in what they add.  As a rule, I edit posts to include identifying information on models or photographers found in comments, but some viewers put some amazing and interesting detail into their comments that I can't edit into the original post.  Also, the format for comments here on blogger allows replies to specific comments, resulting in some interesting conversations among viewers and myself.

So, always check the line just above the labels at the bottom of each photo.  If there there is a number followed by the word "Comments," someone has posted, and you can see it by clicking on the spot.  If it says "No Comments," no one has made one yet, and you can start the conversation by clicking on "No Comments" and typing your thoughts.

Yes, sometimes people post the equivalent of grunts or wolf whistles, but that's OK, too.  Viewer response is not only interesting, but it gives me feedback on how I'm doing.  It's all good.

  1. Thanks for this. I enjoy making comments on the posts that fall into my area of interest. It would be nice to see some responses to my comments from others. Keep up the good work...David

    1. I wish there were an automatic notification when someone replies to a comment, but I don't think there is. Check back from time to time?

    2. On lower right is a check box for "Notify me".

  2. I often comment. I am not a specialist in vintage photos, but I appreciate them a lot. I often post comments on my preferences in the choice of photos or on the model. I hope this does not shock visitors. I do not speak English (but only French) and I use Google translator to express myself, hence sometimes small errors in my texts. A big thank you to our friend Jerry for his extraordinary work and knowledge in the field of photography. Your Belgian friend, Albert

    1. Always glad to hear from you, Albert! The translator works well enough.
