Some gay historians record the first edition of "Butch" as 1963, and others 1964. I have posted photos from this publication before, but didn't know until recently of its affiliation with DSI. This rather classy debut cover didn't go frontal, but the photos inside did, as did future covers.
For a minute there I thought it was two men from Finland in their sauna!
