Physique Week, Day 2 - Sword Play, Part 1

The adventure movies of the 1940's, 50's and early 60's often featured swashbuckling characters with swords.  This trend carried over in to physique photography props, and there was even a film genre called "sword and sand" that featured some physique models in acting roles.  So day two of Physique Week is all about models with swords, starting with John Manning by Pat Milo.

  1. Stunning. We all like to pose with a sword. Those legs are superb...
My next modelling prop will have to be a sword.

    1. Based on my research, I'd say it is one of the more versatile props.

    2. It is. Can be used for fast gestural poses and longer ones. Hoping to get my modelling mates in a three way sword fight. My sword will have to wooden though.

  2. Nice sword. That thing in his hands is nice too.

  3. Do you have a John Manning collection perchance? Maybe his brothers as well?

    1. Yes, I have at least a dozen photos of John Manning by three different photographers. I only have a few of the brothers. I plan to give John his own series, so look for it soon.
