I think these two unknown models are the same guys as the duo in todays opening photo, and I find it interesting that one has on a mesh posing strap and the other nothing at all.  At that time, having just one frontal nude would land you in jail, so I thought, "What's the point?"  Then I realized that the juxtaposition does add an element of interest.  The nude guy is checking out the other's crotch,
while the other casts an odd sort of angelic look skyward.  I've decided that I like it.

  1. That mesh pouch certainly generates interest. even in 2020. You can almost hear the photographer's directions. Another delightful image.

    1. I wonder if they cut that from inside a swim suit?

    2. Could be. I'm a big fan of mesh pouches. Love the way they show almost everything yet when wearing one the wearer is considered dressed. I've had a few in the past, feel great especially on the beach.

  2. These are mesh briefs, with a seat. The model is, I believe, a George something-or-other - I thought I'd up-dated my records for his surname. George also modelled for the Gallerie Vitruvian studio. There's another possibility and I'm looking into it.

Mesh briefs came in as early as the 1930s - for the discerning gentleman in sunnier climbs. Initially with mesh sides and back and front panels in cotton. My mother bought me a couple of pairs, I remember, to cope with the Summer heat in France. Jockey did a version... with their usual cheap cotton, which came back from the laundry like cardboard. Ouch. Gradually, the amount of mesh expanded - and the cardboard diminished. The whizz-bang 1960s saw the full mesh brief in bikini style. They were comfortable enough, if you didn't mind your bell-end covered in tram-lines as if it had been to San Francisco...
