Antoine-Alphonse Montfort's Academic Work . . . Again

We are lucky to have a relatively large number of academic drawings by Antoine-Alphonse Montfort (1802-1884) who was a renowned 19th Century French artist.  His male nudes are quite good.
This model probably felt lucky to have the cushions, but he likely got fatigued anyway.

  2. You're right. That angle is quite tiring. I can almost see his toes wiggling to maintain the circulation in his right leg. Beautiful though...

    1. Thanks for confirming my suspicion about the comfort level.

    2. I've done similar. Balancing the arm and neck muscles can be tricky too. Yet another gorgeous pose though...definitely one to do when I can.
