Dan

Click on Dan Lurie's label at right to see my previous posts on this fascinating character.  A successful businessman, he never denied  having posed nude early in his career.  He even said that he and other bodybuilders knew that Earle Forbes and some of the other New York photographers were gay and pitched the nudes to gays.  Mr. Lurie said,  "We didn't care.  They made the best pictures for us."
This particular photo doesn't quite match the style of any of those great photographers.

  1. Is it just me, it is it a bit blurry and sort of brownish? Almost amateurish, really.

  2. Shooting from below like this certainly emphasises Dan's powerful build. To me, just the right amount of oil to show those highlights. Excellent bush and hang too.

    1. Yes, despite the lack of a sharp focus, everything works here.

  3. A nice Jewish boy from Brooklyn, who wasn't observant, but said in time of need he could out-pray the best of them. And to think, if racist had there way Mr.Lurie would never of had the success he earned.Dan Lurie, Abe Goldberg, Ernie Hoffman, Joe Gold, Marvin Eder and others, just look at their bodies, they put the racist views of 'Aryan' supremecy to shame.

    1. And don't forget David Asnis, the man who helped jumpstart Al Urban's career and opened doors for so many others.
