John

At first glance, I though John Winship was standing on a rock with ski poles,
but a closer look proved them to be a thin sword and scabbard.  The desert scenery should
be a clue as to the photographer, but I'm not aware of anyone having figured it out.

  1. I also thought they were ski poles! I get a little WPG feel from this photo, but that's probably not right.

    1. There is some Don Whitman style there, but the scenery looks like California desert.

    2. I'd say the photo was by Bob Mizer, because of the desert locale.
This photo sold at auction had a serial number of ZH 10 so that can be a clue to the photographer.
Also could be Bruce Bellas or Denny Denfield as accorded by others.
Nevertheless, John Winship is another great model from that very golden age of physique photography.

  3. Those magnificent thighs, and particularly calves set off John's wasp waist nicely.

    1. I agree, and the photographer (whoever they were) got the angle just right to show off those features.
