Rockpile

This guy sunbathing in a rocky expanse seems to be giggling, but he isn't trying to cover up.

  1. Having looked at all these pix, I have to wonder how they got developed. I worked in a photo developing store (summer job) and any pictures of naked people were destroyed. That law changed around 1967 or 68.

    1. Two ways. First, some amateurs did their own processing. Second, back when I was on tumblr, I learned that in about a dozen large and medium sized cities in the USA, there were labs that would do such work as far back as the 1920s. You had to know someone and be discrete, but it could be done. There was even a sort of underground network.

    2. There is an urban legend about a photographer who would mail his film to Kodak in Rochester, New York for developing and enclose a carrier pigeon in the box, because the finished slides might not be legal in the mails.
