Reclining
We get a somewhat pensive look from Mr. Coe in this reclining shot.
Don Whitman was very clever in his pitching, attracting some of the very best of the bona fide bodybuilders on the competition circuit. Here, he is at his subtlest in his choice of Christopher Coe, appealing to both the bodybuilding world and that of the more homoerotic.
Mr. Whitman was, by all accounts, a gentle person who made others comfortable. That shows in the quality of his models as borne out by his immense talent as a both a technical and artistic photographer.
