Gaudenzio Marconi Day
Click on the label at right to learn more about Gaudenzio Marconi, today's featured photographer.
We start with a seated model with an unusual hair style and some props. More about those later.
You're welcome, David! My guess would be that there's some sort of stool under the throw. Round piano stools were coming into vogue about the time this was made. My great grandmother had one.
LOL... Oh, yes, good point re the piano stool. Slightly raised up, tilting the model forward, left leg stabilising. I'm so envious of getting to use the support systems. Apart from blocks and once a lamp stand, I rarely get to go beyond self-supporting.
Any support helps. I typically pose for about two hours. Taking a short stretch break every 20 minutes. We models employ a number of tricks to avoid cramp and pins and needles. Such as tensing opposing muscles and doing whole body stretching.
Wonderful. Thank you, Jerry. I wonder what he is sitting on, under the throw? Bicycle seat? As ever, love these with all the support systems.

DeleteI can see why these would interest you beyond the historical references. It has to be tiring to pose for hours while someone draws or paints.

DeleteNot everyone can stay still for 20 minutes.
DeleteLOL...I had no idea I could stay still for that long. I can do an hour if comfortable.
