Dr. George Goodfellow was a medical doctor who practiced in Tombstone, Arizona and worked on men from both sides following the Shootout at the OK Corral. He became an expert at treating gunshot wounds, and his methods were recognized as groundbreaking. A humanitarian, he provided valuable aid across the border after a Mexican earthquake. Quite a guy, and quite a mustache.
Many thanks to Leroy D. for inspiring today's series.
Good series, with lots of good research as usual.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Gerald! It was a lot of work, but a labor of love as I enjoyed putting this set together very much.
DeleteWhat a handsome man. I wonder if he appeared as a character in the film, "Tombstone" (1993).
ReplyDeleteWe always hear about the flamboyant Doc Holliday, but this gentleman is in many ways more interesting.
Deletegreat name-Dee Exx
ReplyDeleteYes, it fits him, doesn't it.
DeleteThank you for finding my 5th cousin, twice removed, and his photo. With the help of FamilySearch, I found his father and the blood relationship.

That's closer than the usual 7th cousin or so that any random Anglo-Celtic American match would generate, so you have something there. You're welcome.
