Rejoice, Leroy! It's chubby day on the blog, and we start with something from World War II. I have over half a dozen photos of this guy washing his truck on the Ledo Road during the Burmese campaign. In this "new" one, the man at right seems to staring straight at our hero's package. The picture was taken by Bernard Hoffman in 1944, and it's in the LIFE Archive.
I think the guy at right is a native Burmese-Dee Exx
ReplyDeleteProbably.
DeleteIt's more than I expected. I'm almost speechless... almost. You're a prince, Jerry. I enjoy seeing photos of the above chubby king and serviceman. Thank for this new one.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Leroy! Always happy to post these.
DeleteI feel I know this guy, always nice to see him. I hope he made it back home safely.
