Richard Holt Locke (1941-1996) was a ground breaking gay adult film star who became a tireless AIDS activist and advocate before succumbing to the disease himself. Older, hairier, and more masculine than just about anything anyone had seen up to that point, he did a massive reset on the gay porn business. Today I am posting a long overdue series honoring this iconic figure.

ReplyDeleteThe Century saw a lot of “action”in its auditorium, the “action” was wilder than the porn shown on its screen. And behind that screen was even more “action”. The “action” was too much for me, I preferred the Vista.
The Vista is still around and has been fully restored by Quentin Tarantino. Built in 1923 it is one of the gems of old Hollywood. Spanish baroque outside, and in keeping with the Tut craze of the 1920’s, ancient Egyptian style inside!….:)
