I'm not always fond of oiled models, but Doug Juleff 
got it right in this 1955 photo of Gene Staggs.

  1. Yes, not too shiny. The nicely catching his muscles. Also liking Gene's drawn in abdomen. No doubt his chest was expanding magnificently.

    1. Too much can look greasy. I'm not usually a fan of the drawn in abdomen, but I can't fault it in this case.

    2. Yes, ideally more a sort of satin finish. I like the drawn in abdomens as it emphasises the wasp waist and the animated nature of so many bodybuilders physiques. Love to see film of this guy.

    4. Must have been one of Douglas Juleff's last photo shoots , for he was arrested in March of 1955 when his studio was raided.
