I don't know if the total obscurity of the model's face was an artistic device or some gesture of anonymity for modesty's sake. Given that it was France, I doubt it was modesty.
Do you have appriories on French, to generalize is stupid. It's just unnecessarily hurtful The model surely desired cannot be recognized. You have known for a long time that French people no longer wear berets and no longer walk around with a wand on their arm ...
I'm sorry your feelings were hurt. My comment was based on the fact that I've always considered the French to be more advanced than many cultures in their acceptance of nudity.
Jerry, once again a beautiful photograph, brought to us through your dedication. The French have such a way with culture, for which they are admired worldwide. And yes, they are more advanced in their view of the human form. M. Voinquel is a case in point. He was to France, what Hurrell was to Hollywood, a photographic artist. Vive La Belle France ! -Rj in the IE

You are right Jerry , certainly no modesty … Cheers . Jean .
Wonderful...yes...an artistic device..the contrast between what seems to be a scree slope and the twisted body our anonymous man works well.
I wonder if any of those French movie stars Voinquel photographed were built like that.
Yes, the composition is quite good, and even the slight shadows of tree branches across the model's thighs add something.
