Grim
The 1930s could be grim, and so is this Pavel Tchelitchew work.
Despite the splash of color, it seems depressing, even pain ridden.
Not wishing to offend, but he gives his models/drawings a man-sized penis. I also like the different "styles" he uses, from "engineering" to this semi-impressionist work.

ReplyDeleteYes, his style tended to be all over the place when it came to male nudes. And yes, he was not shy about package size.
