Ed
I don't think I've ever seen a photo of Ed Miller that I didn't like. This AMG picture
was taken on a set that reminds me a lot of the paintings of George Quaintance.
The light oil job works nicely here, and the pose is sort of like a guy just sitting shooting the bull. Except that we get to enjoy a view of his maleness.Javr you posted any other pictures of him, Jerry? I don't recall ever seeing him before.
He posed for AMG several times. The only thing I Can recall Miizer telling us was that Ed had a short fuse and a big temper. At first I thought this was some sort of euphemism for some of his physical characteristics. Apparently not.
I'm trying very hard to get over the tacky props Mizer used in his photos. This one takes the cake; the confetti stool he sits on, the tray or picture or whatever, the rainbow bedspread, and those gaudy go-go boots to top it off.
Vik, it sort of makes sense if you've ever seen the George Quaintance paintings that this vaguely resembles. That is a Mexican sombrero he's holding and the blanket is a traditional Mexican design. The boots maybe, sorta could have been worn by a Mexican cowboy. As for that thing he's sitting on, I think it's one of those Mid-Century Modern occasional tables that were supposed to be space age. Having said all that, Bob Mizer could go tacky and cluttered with his props in a heartbeat.

ReplyDeleteSeveral times. Put his name in the search box at lower right.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the interesting (and humorous) personal details.

ReplyDeleteIt can be distracting, but it helps identify it as an AMG photo.

DeleteI must say, he is a handsome dude. I need to get over the silly props. He'd turn my head.
ReplyDeleteHe'd turn anybody's head.
DeleteTacky props?
ReplyDeleteThis is clearly a serious take on The-Glory-That-Was-Greece-Meets-The-Rugged-Wild-West (sub) genre.
Right, and nobody's even mentioned the lurid red curtains.
DeleteBut you're right. He's totally gorgeous.
