Colt
Closing out the Leslie-Lohmann series with a mid-1960s Jim French drawing. I believe
he was calling his business Rip Colt at the time, but this is marked simply Colt.
Jim French, a fascinating man. I am surprised that hasn't been a comprehensive book or a documentary on his life and legacy. His drawings of Streisand, Sinatra for use on album covers in ink wash is extraordinary!
i agree that Mr. French does not get the attention he deserves. I'm not sure if it's the reason, but the Colt brand was sold, and the new owners seem more intent on wringing every bit of money out of the brand than they are in helping celebrate the genius of the founder.
