Ralph Kelly was a physique photographer active from about 1948 through 1958, and my only complaint about him is that there isn't more of his work that I can find. We start today's series with this interesting photo of Bob Cutlass holding a photo of what appears to be another nude man. Or is that himself? I can't find the photo he's holding anywhere in my Kelly collection.
The man in the pic looks to be blond, and way too developed to be Bob himself. This in no way detracts from Bob's low-hanging handsomeness. Nor the good looks of the man in the photo, for that matter.
ReplyDeleteEvery single phot is exceptional. I have to agree with you that I wish he'd done more.
ReplyDeleteYes, with some of the less prolific photographers, I struggle to find enough good photos for a 10 picture series, particularly if I'm including non-nudes. Not this guy.
DeleteIn studying this photo, I began to wonder if maybe this model was holding a photo to demonstrate what he wished to accomplish through his body-building.
DeleteNow that does make sense, but the model looks good already. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
DeleteI agree. Can't see anything that needs fixing here. Did Bob Cutlass pose for many photos? He's such a good looking guy. I love his body hair and those impressive low hangers. Great shadow too.
ReplyDeleteMr. Cutlass didn't pose for a huge number of photos, but maybe I can put together a 5-piece series. Definitely worth the effort.
DeleteA Bob Cutlass series would be a very welcome addition to the site - by me at least! Shame he didn't pose for many photos - as you mentioned elsewhere he looked as though he enjoyed modelling.
