Kip
We see Kip Behar and nothing else in this nicely done Milo photo.
Kip Behar is one of the "faces" I remember from the long ago. Perhaps even this image. Superb image... No wonder with that talent Milo was able to get the best of models. And, yes, it doesn't get much better than Kip Behar.
Mr. Behar managed to get into a few movies, including the hit "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes." He either couldn't act or was permanently assigned to the category of boy toy eye candy, because his only leading role was in the 1963 B movie "Beauty and the Body." He played the body of course.
Yes, there are even a few where the photographer clearly didn't know what he was doing, but Kip still looked fine. His first show business job was in Mae West's touring review where all he had to do was flex and look adoringly at the star. I've read that at least half of the audience came just to look at the men, and I believe it.
When looking at photos of Mae's shows, I am not looking at Mae! Lol.Have you heard the stories of Kip's alleged involvement with Hollywood agent Henry Willson? He made stars out of Guy Madison, Rory Calhoon and of course Rock Hudson and quite a few more beefcake actors. A couple of short lines about Kip indicate he might have been close to Rock and another actor George Nader. I will have to get the book The Man Who Invented Rock Hudson: The Pretty Boys And Dirty Deals Of Henry Wilson.
I did not know Kip Behar was involved with Henry Willson. If so, I'm sure he wasn't the only one who was disappointed with the results. For every Rock Hudson or Guy Madison, there were probably several who never even made it as far as Kip did. Trading sexual favors for advancement in Hollywood was quite common, but doesn't excuse it. I haven't seen the book you mention, but what I have read about Willson makes him come across as a pretty despicable character.
In a town of despicable characters. It's a sad commentary on a business that will trade on whatever it can at all costs. Last years miniseries Hollywood is loosely based on Scotty Bower's life, at least some of it is. Jim Parsons portrays Willson. There is one scene where he introduces Rock to Rory Calhoon and a fictional actor so he can watch the three get "acquainted". It was supposed to be Tab Hunter, but his life partner threatened litigation if Tab's name was used in a scene that was clearly sexual and pandering. One actor has said "Once you sell your soul in that industry you still have to pay the blackmail charges each month". I would like to think Kip's doings with him were strictly professional. And maybe they were.

DeletePerfection! I have said it before virtually impossible for Kip to ever take a bad photo. A photographers dream.
