10 X 10

Today we'll look at ten different physique models by ten different photographers.
Our first is by Pat MIlo and the only unknown in the series.  Anyone?

Andy by Denny Denfield

Somehow, I have managed not to post this Denny Denfield photo of Andrew Kozak until now.
The natural setting and the impressive model are quite pleasing together.

Tom by Kovert

Kovert of Hollywood produced this photo of Tom Matthews.

Marc by Western

Don Whitman of Western PhotographyGuild took this impressive photo of Marc Arno.

Ben by Dave Martin

Ben Cantor appears to be floating in the air in this Dave Martin picture.
Mr. Cantor was a Stanford Univcrsity baseball player in 1955 when this was made.

Jerry and Friend by Lon

Lon of New York took this interesting photo of Jerry Rocco (left) and an unknown.
There's something quite intriguing about their expressions.

David by Kris

I get the feeling that this Kris Studio shot of David Selhime was not posed.
If it was posed, it is amazingly natural and at ease.

Jules by Al

This photo of Jules Bacon is a cut above the usual technical quality one expects from Al Urban.

Drew by Bruce

Bruce of LA chose an excellent outdoor location for this picture of Drew Burton.

Keith Stephan by Spartan

Our last photo is by a lesser known studio, Spartan, but the model is the amazing Keith Stephan.

Military Men

It's time for another military series, and we start with a handsome soldier getting a bath out of a pan.

Drying off

I've always found this photo interesting in terms of the details.  The soldier is standing on two pieces of firewood to keep his feel clean, there are rolls of barbed wire at lowe left, and we see a row of outhouse toilets at upper right.  I'm not sure, but I think this is American based on the tents.

Polish Interwar I

Narcyz Witczak WitaczyƄski was a Polish military officer and an excellent  photographer who started his career in the Russian Army before Polish independence in 1918.  He served with distinction in the Polish-Bolshevik War of 1919-21 as well as the opening campaign of World War II.  A brave patriot, he shed his uniform when Poland surrendered and started a resistance group focused on counter-intelligence and publishing an underground magazine, Apel.  After three years, Mr. WitaczyƄski was arrested by the Gestapo and died in German captivity.  His list of medals and honors is too long to publish here, but he is a true hero of the Polish nation.  For our puposes, we will look at two of his photos of Polish army men enjoying swimming.  Enlarge if you can for detail.

Interesting

I think this is one I got from Miss Magnolia Thunderpussy.  Perhaps predictably,
they are Germans, and if you look closely, you'll see a guy at right bending over.

Movie via Larry K

Larry K from The Unashamed Male generously sent me a group of well curated short movies
of military men some time ago.  I can do no better for a caption than to cut and paste his notes:
"1950-07-23  #21877 Korean War-Between Pohang Dong and Yongdok-Pvt Bill Dougherty
& Cpl Warren Hoke washing in sea (Holloway)"  Thanks a million, Larry!

Aussies

These World War II Australian soldiers seem friendly and fun loving.
The wardrobe malfunction, however, did not go quite far enough for my taste.

Swim Time

Two of these soldiers are in full uniform and one is wearing a bathing suit.
Everyone else, however, is naked, as they should be.

Has to be American

This Worle War II GI is being quintessentiallyAmerican and washing his Jeep.

Polish Interwar II

Our second photo of the day by Narcyz Witczak WitaczyƄski
enlarges for detail even better than the first.

Scumbeast contribution

Our last photo takes me back to my Ipernity days when Miss Magnolia Thunderpussy
was renowned for her massive collection of World War II naked Germans.  This one,
however, was a Mr. Scumbeast contribution he called "Air field wash up ."
The aircraft is a Ju-52 workhorse transport nicknamed the Iron Annie.

Nature in the Early 20th Century

Today we visit some early 20th Century nude (mostly) men in outdoor settings.
Our first model seems to be saying,  "I'll just fly away.  That's what I'll do."

Freilicht I

Around 1900, Koch and some other German photographers used a style they called Freilicht, which translates as "free light."  It was an open air and generally nature oriented style.
This is the first of two examples in today's series.

No clue

I hope this one was amateur because the technical quality is awful.
And I have no clue as to what he's supposed to be doing.

English vibe

Why am I getting an English gentlman vibe from this photo?

Something different

He's fully clothed, but I think he's beautiful.

Freilicht II

This is the second German Freilicht series photo in today's set.
He looks like he's sneaking up on something in the forest.

1931 Pennsylvania

It's all about the shadows in this 1931 photo made in Pennsylvania.

Von Gloeden

This is a stray Von Gloeden photo that turned up in the wrong file folder.
The model looks angry about something.

Die Schonheit

B.M. Mueller published this photo in Die Schonheit, and early 1900s gay friendly magazine.

New Jersey

A viewer sent me this one, saying only that it was made in New Jersey, early 20th C.
