Miner

Albert's father was a miner, so he has a special interest in photos of them.  This is a mine
changing room in which the miners' street clothes and other items are suspended
overhead during a shift and then lowered for access when needed.

  1. My dad was a miner (coal) as well, so I also find such pictures touching and of great interest. When we were kids, we'd go to the showers after school when our fathers's shift ended, and walk home with them.

  2. Hey Big Dude, I'm writing a book about my dad's life (actually my stepfather, but since my biological father died two months before I was born, I consider my stepfather my real dad). It will be my 18th book, and it will be about the life of a coal miner. I've decided to illustrate it myself with my drawings. I took drawing lessons 18 months ago. I often cry when I'm drawing a miner for my book. There's a drawing of the "hanging room," where they used to hang their clothes. Unfortunately, this book will only be published in French.

    1. I have no doubt it will be wonderful. If I could find a store that sold books in other languages, I'd look for it, What will it be called?

  3. I have great admiration for the men who did these jobs.

  4. Dear Big Dude, that's very kind of you. My book will be called "A Destiny Between Two Worlds" by Albert Sottiaux. Unfortunately, my book isn't being printed in large quantities and, sadly, won't be translated into English. Hiring a translator would be far too expensive compared to the number of copies I could sell.

Thank you nonetheless; your interest is very much appreciated.
