Dumbbell II
The model for Plate 326 shows us a fine backside while working a dumbbell.
The model pool included U of Pennsylvania students and professors along with an assortment of working men, artists and performers. People were generallly more physically active back then, so there were plenty of well formed candidates. As for auditions, I think anyone willing to do it was given a chance unless there was some glaring reason not to.

DeleteThis fine gentleman is in good form. I wonder if Muybridge was selective on who he chose to use. Was there an audition process?
