Front view
The bright lighting in this front view of John Grimek
*Leroy drops the bowl and clinches his fists in front of his face* Damn! Damn! Damn! Thank you for this introduction, Jerry. You're a prince. And damn John is... perfection.
In 1947 Grimek self published a photo book Masculine Perfection featuring many indoor studio photos of himself by Lon and outdoor photos taken by Grimek himself with a self timer. The photos date from 1928-1945 and each is titled. The whole volume can be seen on video at Buonaideabooks….:)
Lon used an Eastman Kodak camera with a Zeiss Tessar lens and used three lamps for lighting his physique models. No doubt Grimek sought the best photographer and found that in Lon. Rex in DC

ReplyDeleteI will definitely take a look.
DeleteVimeo also features the book….:)
DeleteThe book was in part financed by Bob Hoffman of York Barbell that Grimek promoted and at times worked for.
