Early 20th Century
It's early 20th Century day, and we start with another item for the hood ornament collection.
This time it's a version of Mercury by French photographer Jacques Boyer.
I do... I'm sure both the photographer and model, would have been very pleased with this result. Taken in, what looks like an overgrown French suburban garden. From the lovely shadow, the sun quite high, bouncing off the path to illuminate his chest, and give contrast detail for his musculature. Utterly stunning.
Now that's a hood ornament one could happily drive behind!
ReplyDeleteMy focus would not be on the road.
DeleteThe closet we had was the famed hood ornament of an archer for Pierce Arrow….:)
ReplyDeletePerhaps the ultimate.
DeleteWow! Such fine buttery!!

Love this one. Lithe and lean, beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat pose doesn't look easy.
DeleteWow. Amazing poise, superb balance, gorgeous pose.
ReplyDeleteI thought you'd appreciate this one, David.
