One of the highlights of my visit to Frogner Park was getting to see this particular statue.
Ever since I first saw it almost 10 years ago, it has reminded me of the day back on the
ranch when my Uncle Sonny taught his twin sons to swim in the irrigation pond.
The guy had a crude, but effective approach to life, and, after a rough start,
the twins quickly learned to enjoy swimming. Oh, how I miss that man!

Truly an amazing collection portraying many aspects of life. Lucky you for spending a whole day there. I enjoyed half of a day and wasn't nearly finished. I would like to see it in winter with his pieces laced with snow, perhaps with some Grieg emanating from my earbuds.
ReplyDeleteThere are pictures online of Vigeland in the snow, but it isn't nearly the same as being there. It was definitely my best day in Scandinavia.
DeleteI found these monstrous statues for double messages with font passers!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, the imagination runs wild.
