Although you have probably heard of some of them, the ten photographers I'm featuring today are among the lesser known of the classic physique era. There is a dearth of work by most of them,
and I don't even have enough of some to give them their own series. We begin with the always impressive Bill Hillgardner in an outdoor photo by Lou Melancon.
Will you be including Hillgardner in your next "big ones"-themed post? I really like this shot, not only for his big peter, but the pose, lighting, setting are all really cool.

Much in the style of Oettinger and Whitman in America, Stone in Canada and Ferrero in France.
Outdoor photography can be difficult as the sunlight must be just right.

ReplyDeleteIt looks like an abandoned industrial site with a large dead tree. At first I thought it was from the desert Southwest, but Mr. Melancon and the Hillgardner brothers were all New York based. In fact, Mr. Melancon was the resident photographer for the Metropolitan Opera for over two decades.
