Grease
Was all that grease necessary for the model to contort himself like that?
I think it may be dribbling down the front of the block he's on.
This looks like a pose from a ballet originally danced in the early 20th century and reminds me of still pictures of that ballet I’ve seen by the Russian dancer, Diagalev, or even Nureyev, dancing the “Fawn“ (I know that’s not the whole title of the ballet, I just remembered that it had the word Fawn in it, like “death of a fawn“, or something like that…)
Could we call this "the Pretzel Pose?" That IS a lot of oil. It's a wonderful he didn't slide off the block.
