Set
I can't help but feel that these two photos were meant to be viewed as a set.
The originals reside in the magnificent Guggenheim Museum.
I've been to the Gugg, NEVER saw anything like this! Would this not be available for public viewing? (i know that sometimes museums have Special Collections).
They are also presented this way in one of the books I have, but the original prints are of vastly different sizes. The one on the left is only 4 3/4" x 3 11/16" while the right one is 10" x 7 1/8". The book calls them "Two Male Nudes (One in Shadow)", n.d.

ReplyDeleteIt's quite common for museums to have special collections that are either on limited display or located apart from the main displays.
DeleteI think so too. The effect is stunning.
