Posing strap

Here is an example of what feels like creeping censorship on the Google Images search function.
This benign posing strap photo produced the "This search can't be processed due to content
guidelines" notice.  The same thing has been showing up on derriere shots and even photos
of men in trunks.  I don't know if Google has gone prudish since they made a deal with
the devil Trump, or if their AI scanners are so shoddy they can't tell the difference.
Either way, I hope I don't find myself looking for a new blogging platform soon.
Meanwhile, I'd really like to see more of this model.

  1. This is a very nice series, Jerry. I don't understand why Google would censor a photo for nudity. I don't like your president at all, I'm sorry, but if he's the one imposing these stupid censorships, he's even more of a dumbass than I thought!

  2. The "adult content" image scanners used to look for "flesh tones" a/k/a "typical Caucasian" skin colors, and if they were the majority of the image, flag them. I guess the scanners have gotten sophisticated enough to interpet grayscale images like this-Dee Exx

  3. My guess is that the "safe search" in your Google account is switched on. Go to your Google account (upper right corner of any Google screen) and check out the Safe Search option. PS: When I search Google the results are quite literally unlimited. And -- check out my new Bluesky vintage photo site: D A N@d-a-n-n-n-y.bsky.social

  5. This was a great set Jerry! Your blog and others like it give us hope for better days, sooner rather then later. I don't consider that person to be a member of the human race.

    1. I'll try, but searches have been frustrating lately. Maybe I need a break.
