I have to say I envy the fellow being examined by this chubby doctor. I'd let him feel me up any day. I am not, however, fond of those army cots. My family got one from War Surplus, and I had to sometimes sleep on it when relatives visited. I'm sure there were less painful Medieval torture devices.

same here! We finally got a roll-away that was tolerable, and was my bed in my first apartment-Dee Exx
ReplyDeleteLong after I had left home, my folks replaced theirs with an inflatable bed.
DeleteDid you at least have a blanket? (i'm aware that futons / inflatables came later)
ReplyDeleteYes, it was usually summer, so I used the winter quilts as padding. They didn't help much.
DeleteWhen I got into my apartment in 2017, I got a cot since that was what I could afford. I slept on that for probably a year or two before putting plywood on top, with an inflatable camp mattress and a foam pad. That was sure much more comfortable! Because of the narrow width, I have to be careful how I move, but I have become used to it. Some day, a larger apartment with a larger bed would be nice.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you will progress soon.
