Hawaii beckons ! The poster looks like the type used by the Matson Line of San Francisco to advertise their passenger ships to Hawaii. One can picture the youth in one of the lanai suites of Matson’s famed SS Lurline….:)
I heard that the Jones Act (Hawaii can only be served by US shipping companies, while the other 49 states can be served by all shipping companies !) is one of the causes of higher prices and hurts the islands economy….:(

Matson is now based in Honolulu, and they are the biggest cargo hauler between Hawaii and the mainland.
