Volleyball

No, that's not beach volleyball.  It's volleyball played with a beach ball.  There's a difference.

Today's theme is that favorite pastime of vintage nudists everywhere, volleyball.

We start with a guy at Glen Eden whom they probably nicknamed "Stretch."

 

Action!

This is a fairly decent stop action volleyball shot, but I can't help but feel like the guy at right is drooling or something.  Maybe they gave him valium to relax enough to take his pants off.

 

Stationary

While this volleyball player might be setting up to serve,

I get the feeling this was set up for the photographer.

 

Leisurely

While more sedate than most of our pictures today,

this one does show a nice little group at volleyball.

 

Maintenance

Our chubby chaser special is a repost of a guy rolling the volleyball court at a nudist 

resort with a barrel that had been filled with cement.  Maintenance is essential, 

and I'm thinking that they picked the right guy for the job.

 

Whack!

Our only color volleyball photo of the day shows 

a player about to give the ball a big whack.

 

I would find it hard to keep my eyes on the ball if I ever played nude volleyball.

 

Bounce

It's been said many times that more than just the ball

 bounces in the nude version of volleyball.

 

Troy Saxon Day

It's Troy Saxon Day on the blog, and we start the show with a picture that harkens back to Mr. Saxon's (aka Stuart "Pinky" Rosenberg) start in the business as an outdoor model while on spring break in California.  The model is Tommy Pollack, and the woodland setting makes me think of Spring.

Rusty Steele is perhaps the most prolific of Troy Saxon's models.

There's a simple reason for that.

This excellent photo of Jim Lindsay (sometimes spelled Lindsey), aka Sarge, 

is a reminder that Troy Saxon started his work during the posing strap era.

Although I've already posted all my favorite photos of Doug Felton, this one is still nice.

That amazing smile and the tan lines are mighty fine.

Donnie Kay and Terry Hunt posed together for several Troy Saxon pictures, and here they have 

their hands in some sort of clasp.  Did physique models have a secret double handshake?

The final image in our Troy Saxon is of Joey Singer.  My source reports that it was licensed

 by Mr. Saxon to pioneering gay entrepreneurs DSI for use in one of their publications.

 

Early 20th Century

Our them for today is the early 20th Century, and we 

start with a guy who makes me think of Nijinsky.

The only big thing in this picture is that interesting pot.

I'm pretty sure this is a study for a crucifixion themed work of art.

There's definitely a Nordic feel to this one.
