Crawford Barton (1943-1993) was a remarkably talented photographer who chronicled the rising tide of gay culture in San Francisco from 1968 into the 1980's. He published a book in 1974 called Beautiful Men, and was known for his depiction of everything from street life to intimate personal moments. He took hundreds of photos of gay men and women having fun and enjoying freedom. Then the epidemic hit, and the fun stopped for a long time. Crawford Barton died of AIDS in 1993.
Indeed , like so many famous models who went down the drain in no time . Horrible !
