Jack LaLanne and Jack Thomas took things to an extreme in this 1950s
photo by Russ Warner.  Now that’s just showing off!

Thanks once again to LarryK for another great guest series.

  1. Jack really had a superb physique, didn't he? Love seeing him fully nude. And glad that he wasn't successful in his attempts to purchase all the negatives of those full frontals.

    1. Yes, and it's a real shame we don't get to see all those he did manage to destroy.

    2. Tragic..especially as he looks so good nude. I gather Jack Thomas was more enlightened?

    3. Jack T. didn't get a TV contract in an era where such photos would ruin one's reputation, so he didn't feel the need to destroy his nudes.

  2. Oh to have seen this being shot. Did all the shots survive? One of my all time favourite physique photographs. LaLanne's torso is a work of art as he almost effortlessly lifts Thomas...utterly beautiful.

    1. I have approximately a dozen shots from that memorable session. If you click on the Jack Lalanne label above, more will appear. I'll try to get another series on soon.

    2. Cool thank you. I "discovered" this series about twenty years ago. Their confidence as nude men certainly inspired me to model.

  3. That lift is easier than it looks; it's a stunt that most cheerleaders can do several times in a game. Hook 'em Horns!!

    1. So they still do that every other Saturday in DKR Memorial Stadium? Mr. Royal himself was coach and Earl Campbell was just starting his career when I was there. I rarely visit Texas any more, but still bleed Orange and White - BA '73, MS '75
