Soviet artist Dmitry Zhilinski completed this self portrait as a 19-year-old student in 1946
Sullen Zhilinski looks older than 19 ! Then again the stoic Russians are not wallflowers and have had very tough and trying times. From the terror of imperial tsars, communist premiers and the loon that rules over Russia today, to the hells of WW1, civil war and WW2, that would harden anyone….:\

Very intense. Reminds me of the muscle photos from the 50’s.

A lot of 19-year-olds have to work hard to look that intense, but I get the feeling this guy was a natural.
