Gerhardt Liebmann Day

Gerhardt Liebmann (1928-1989) was an American artist whose work I only discovered

 a few weeks ago.  Despite his very German sounding name, he was born in Downey, 

California and moved to New York in 1968.  Besides being a good artist and 

photographer, he was also an architect, explorer, pilot, mountaineer, 

and gay rights activist.  Sadly, he died of AIDS in 1989.  We start 

with an unknown, at least to me, half dressed model.
