It's 1930s day, and we have a two parter. Part one is a group of six photos that have been dated to the 1930s, but for which I have been able to find no model of photographer attributions. We start with an item dated at 1939 that looks like Earle Forbes' work. It does not, however, appear in any of the databases or websites featuring his photos.
Could this be Jack Thomas?
ReplyDeleteSlight resemblance, but I don't think it's him.
DeleteWhoever he is, he's stunning.
ReplyDeleteThe more I look at him, the more convinced I become that he is one of Earle Forbes' unidentified models.
DeleteEarle Forbes or perhaps Gebbe or Melan.
ReplyDeleteForbes didn’t provide many names for his models. Wonder if he took this photo with his Kodak Six-16 or Agfa Ansco Shur-Shot box cameras. Forbes would use anywhere from one to three lights to illuminate his subjects, excellent results with simplicity of equipment. And he would have his photos developed at a local drugstore with no problems.
