The only male nudes

I've only been able to find two male nudes by Gustave Caillebotte.  Above is Man at His Bath
which I posted a while back without knowing the artist's name.  Below is Man Drying his Leg,
and both are from 1884, probably of the same man.  (Note the differing brushstroke patterns
between the two.)  Having briefly attended the Ecole des Beaux Artes, we might expect
some academic nudes by this artist to be extant, but I have found none.

  1. Une nouvelle interprétation du nu masculin.
In 1888 the large scale painting of Man at His Bath caused a scandal at the Les XX art exhibit in Brussels. To appease the offended the painting was placed in its own room for discretion :\

  2. These are the only two I have ever seen, but I like the differing styles.

  3. Wonderful. The wet floor, footprints, discarded towel, drying technique. We are there. A rather fine pair of muscular legs, and a hint of what lies beyond.

    1. The peekaboo is nice. Male frontal nudity seems very rare among Impressionists.

  4. Check out his painting The Floor Scrapers, shirtless working class men at work
