Hermann Heid
This photo is attributed by a European university library to Hermann Heid. I've seen the same model in some photos by Louis Igout, but such personnel overlaps are not at all unheard of.
It's difficult. Publishers issued volumes of these photos for use by artists, and they weren't that concerned with getting the photographers correctly credited. That leaves me wondering how the creators got paid, if at all.
The pose is unusual, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI've also seen some Igout photos attributed to Heid, and vice versa. How can you actually verify who took a photo?
