Roy Hilligen
Ending Russ Warner day with a picture from a memorable photo shoot with Roy Hilligen.
His physique is truly astounding, one of my fave models. I like to think that Mr. Warner really enjoyed being with naked models; was hoping to find some where he's also naked (a la Kozak), but the only one that comes close is a shirtless one. He had an interesting look, and I love blond curls. Thanks again for "Focus on Russ" ! 🫶🏼😍😍🔥
Hilligenn was liggaamsboukampioen in Suid-Afrika 1943, 1944 en 1945, en Amerika 1949 en 1951. During the war he worked in the gold mines. In South Africa at that time many Afrikaaners would not serve in the military because they had no sympathy for Britain. Smuts was concerned about their loyalties during the war as some prominent Afrikaaners were pro Nazi Germany and encouraged strikes, sabotage and sedition. The more extreme Afrikaaners were imprisoned for their treason. They then set the groundwork for enforced apartheid after the war. In my own family, a mix of Afrikaaners, and those of English and Huguenot descent, some served in Ww2 in East and North Africa, while others refused. That and the legacy of apartheid has divided my family ever since. Praetorius

I wrote a term paper/ presentation on S. Africa in college in '86, and predicted Apartheid would be eradicated by '87. Very close! Glad it's gone.
